The existing cottage, with expansive views over neighbouring fields, was brimming with character but needed enlarged to better accommodate our clients and their family. An extension was clearly required but needed to be sympathetic to the existing stone building and rural location. A simple palette of timber, glass and slate was selected, along with a simple, traditional form for the extension. This extension houses a large family kitchen, living and dining space that makes the most of the views, whilst respecting and enhancing the beauty of the existing cottage.
