This sloping site benefitted from incredible views over Edinburgh. Our developer client wanted to get two family homes on the site, which tapered in at the rear. By utilising an upside-down plan, with the main living spaces upstairs and to the front, we were able to design two large properties which sat tightly but not uncomfortably on the site. The plans and sections of both homes open up to the views, whilst the orientation ensures privacy.
Through careful consideration of the materials and construction techniques, the two homes were able to be built efficiently and were considerate to their surroundings. The green roofs soften the view for the neighbouring properties which overlook the site.
